An Alternative to Chemical laden Deoderants – Earth Conscious Brand
Every day we are exposed to vast amounts of toxins and chemicals. There are thousands of chemical ingredients, some of them known carcinogens in soaps, shampoos and a whole list of toiletries that you use on a daily basis. Some of the worst chemicals are found in deodorant. As part of my zero waste journey, I have consciously tried to eradicate chemicals from our house and have gone back to basics on home cleaning and personal care.
Deodorant is a product that inhibits your body’s natural secretion of toxins. When applied, it clogs your skin follicles so that you’re not able to sweat as much as your body requires. On top of stopping your body’s natural cleansing process caused by sweating, all these chemicals are absorbed into our bodies. I have listed some of the chemicals found in your average deodorant.
Aluminum is the ingredient in antiperspirants that actually clog your pores and prevents sweating. Aluminum exposure has been linked with the development of Alzheimer’s disease and interferes with your estrogen levels.
Parabens are used in a lot of products as a preservative and for their bactericidal and fungicidal properties and are possibly one of the most harmful additives of all. Parabens disrupt hormonal balances and have been linked to breast cancer and prostate cancer.
Steareths are waxy compounds that are used as a stabiliser but can produce carcinogens.
Triclosan is in the majority of brand name deodorants. It’s used to kill bacteria in the manufacturing process butis classified as a pesticide.
Propylene Glycol If used daily, this chemical can cause damage to your central nervous system, heart, and liver.
So if you are looking for a natural zero waste alternative that is made from 100% natural ingredients, try Earth Conscious deodorant stick or cream. Includes Sodium Bicarbonate that prevents the smell that is caused by the bacteria that lives in your underarm. Also contains coconut oil and shea butter for comfort, arrowroot that keeps your pits dry and essential oils. 100% cruelty-free and vegan approved. The stick comes in a cardboard stick applicator and a cream which you apply with your fingers. A little goes a long way.

I really like the stick and the cream. I found they work just as well as the Sure deodorant that I have been using, so I have switched over to this natural product. Better for me, better for the planet
